Emil Brown, 78,
dies at Osage;
Rites Wednesday

OSAGE, IOWA — Emil Brown, 78, died Saturday at the Osage Nursing Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p. m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in St. Ansgar Cemetery.

He was a retired farmer and painter.

Surviving are two sons, Arnold, Osage; Arthur, Medford, Oregon; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; four brothers and a sister.

His birth name was probably Braun, a lot of the Braun families changed the spelling to Brown.

His World War I Draft Registration shows:

Emil Albert Braun was born August 5, 1882. He was the son of Fred and Tillie (Mielke) Braun,

(1925 Iowa Census). He married Elizabeth Lemke.
She passed away in 1921.

#2C:
They are both listed in the Saint Ansgar Cemetery with the surname Braun, but his son Arnold is listed as Brown.

Eliza Braun: June 16, 1879 — July 8, 1921
Arnold H. Brown: March 19, 1905 — January 23, 1968
