Ida Marie (Aurand) Griswold 1854--1939

#1:

Mrs. Acel Griswold
Died at Aurora, Illinois,
Once Resident Here

Mrs. Acel Griswold, who will be well-remembered by the older residents of the town, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bert Sides, at Aurora, Illinois, January 19, according to word sent here.

Mrs. Griswold and her family lived in Osage many years, occupying a house that is now known as the O. C. Christianson place on north Tenth street. Her husband was a Civil war veteran and died a few years after the war closed from a disease that he contracted while in the army.

It is possible that the deceased's brother, Ernie J. Aurand, may still be living, but if he is not, Mrs. Sides is the last of the family. Mrs. Griswold was an aunt to the late Will Griswold, and a great-aunt to Delos Griswold.
