Lucille Crouch, 96, Johnson City, died April 6, 2008, at Johnson City Medical Center.She was born Ruth Lucille Coonradt in Rochester, Minnesota, to B.H. and Josie Coonradt, ministers, who preceded her in death. She grew up in Iowa and attended Cincinnati Bible Seminary, where she met and married Owen L. Crouch in 1932. Together they ministered in Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, North Carolina and Tennessee, including 17 years at Milligan College. Lucille lost her husband in 2000 after 68 years of marriage.
During her years of ministry, Lucille was active in various women's circles, calling groups, teaching pre-school children and singing and playing the piano. For the last 22 years, she was a member of Grandview Christian Church and most recently played the piano at the Appalachian Christian Village.
In addition to her parents, Lucille was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Hossom and Virginia Davis, recently of Johnson City.
She is survived by a son, James Crouch and wife, Margaret, Duffield, Virginia; daughter, Lorna Crouch, Johnson City; 6 grandchildren, including Susan Hansen, of Asheville, North Carolina, and Gary Hightower, of Alpharetta, Georgia, and Jeff Crouch, Pensacola, Florida; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, including Ginny Davis McKinney, Johnson City, and brother-in-law, Paul Davis.
The funeral for Mrs. Crouch will be conducted at 3:00 PM Friday, April 11, 2008, at Grandview Christian Church, 300 University Parkway, with Aaron Wymer, Minister, officiating. Graveside services will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00-3:00 PM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be given to the Grandview Christian Church building fund, 300 University Parkway, Johnson City, TN 37604; or the Owen L. Crouch Preaching Ministry Scholarship Fund at Emmanuel School of Religion, One Walker Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601.

Ruth Lucille (Coonradt) Crouch was born November 21, 1911, the daughter of Rev. Bert Henry Coonradt and his 2nd wife Josephine “Josie” O’Banion Coonradt.
Her parents are buried in the Osage City Cemetery, Mitchell Co., Iowa
