MRS. LEONARD KNUDSON DIES; RITES WEDNESDAYOsage – Mrs. Alfred Ask, Ida Gaarder and Henry Gaarder left Tuesday evening to attend the funeral of their sister, Mrs. Leonard Knudson, at With, Wisconsin.
Mrs. Knudson, reared in Mitchell County, near St. Ansgar, died Saturday at the age of 52Mrs. Knudson was born at Albany, Wisconsin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ellif Gaarder. The family moved to a farm near St. Ansgar, where she completed her grade and high school education. After teaching a short while, she was married to Leonard Knudson.
Surviving are her husband, Leonard Knudson, her mother, Mrs. Ellif Gaarder of Osage; 2 daughters, Mrs. Howard Ruth of Appleton, Wis.; Nadine, at home; 2 sons, Leonard, Jr., of Stillwater, Minn.; and Omer, at home
Also 3 sisters; Mrs. Alfred Ask and Ida Gaarder of Osage; and Mrs. Carl Golberg of Carpenter; and 2 brothers, Henry of Osage; and Ed of Saulsalito, California.Mason City Globe Gazette, Thursday February 24, 1944

According to a Ellif Gaardner family tree found on Ancestry; her name was Nina Augusta Knudson, born August 1, 1889. This same tree says she married Leonard Knudson, the son of Olaf Knutson and Sigri (Peterson) Knutson. They have a birth date for Leonard of December 6, 1883 in Wisconsin and death of May 7, 1949.
