EDGAR NIXON, FORMERLY OF OSAGE, IS DEAD

Osage, Iowa – Edgar Nixon, 65, formerly of Osage, died last Friday at Monroe, Washington.

He was born in Osage, September 10, 1883 to Francis and Josephine Nixon, and Married Ora Holliday.

The couple lived on a farm near Osage until her death, after which Mr. Nixon and his only son, Francis left for Washington in 1931. The son was a chemist overseas during the war.

Surviving are his son; two brothers, Arthur, Osage, and Walter of San Benito, Texas, three sisters, Mrs. Win Darr and Mrs. Sadie Penn, both in California, and Mrs. Alice Heberly, Waterloo.

DIED IN WASHINGTON
FRIDAY, AUGUST 20

Edgar Nixon, 65, of Monroe, Washington, and formerly of Osage, Iowa, died at Monroe on August 20, 1949, according to word received here. His remains were brought to Osage and graveside services were held Saturday morning, August 27, in the Osage cemetery.

He was born in Osage on September 10, 1883, to Francis and Josephine Nixon. He married Oral Holiday and the couple lived on a farm near Osage, now operated by the George Marrells, until Mrs. Nixon's death.

IN 1931 Mr. Nixon and his only son, Francis, left for Washington to make their home.

Surviving are his son; two brothers, Arthur of Osage and Walter of San Benito, Texas; and three sisters: Mrs. Win Darr and Mrs. Sadie Penn of California, and Mrs. Alice Heberly of Waterloo.
