GOLBERG DIES AT 77
Mrs. Carl (Anna) Golberg, 77, 646 9th NE, died Tuesday at a Mason City hospital, following a long illness. She had lived in Mason City 14 years.
Mrs. Golberg was born at Albany, Wisconsin in 1885 to Ellif and Gunneld (Leverson) Gaarder. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church at Albany. In 1908 she moved to Mitchell County with her parents.
She was married to Carl M. Golberg, December 16, 1914, at Osage. They owned and operated the hardware store at Carpenter for 33 years, retiring to Mason City in 1948. She was a former member of the Deer Creek Lutheran Church at Carpenter and at the time of her death a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mason City.
Surviving are her husband, one brother, Henry Gaarder, Osage, and two sisters, Bertha Ask and Miss Ida Gaarder of Mason City.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Syver and Edward, and a sister, Mrs. Leonard Knudson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Deer Creek Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery. The Schroeder-Houg Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, is in charge.
