VERNA PETZNICK
GRAFTON, IOWA - Verna Petznick, 94, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, and formerly of Grafton, died on Monday, May 3, 1999, at the Good Samaritan Center, in St. Ansgar.
Verna was born March 14, 1905, near Grafton, the daughter of Gustava and Ida (Bartz) Petznick. She attended Grafton schools and graduated from Grafton High School. She also attended business school.
She was employed for many years at the Farmers State Bank, in Grafton.
She married Kelly Horton, of Grafton and they lived on a farm south of Grafton. They were later divorced.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, in Grafton, with the Rev. Rose Marie Nack officiating. Burial will be in the Grafton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion Funeral Home, in Osage, and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the Church.
Verna is survived by two stepdaughters, Leona Lemme and her husband, Paul, of Kiester, Minn., and Vivian Peterson and her husband, Kermit, of Mason City; one stepson, Dwayne Horton and his wife, Mary, of East Dubuque, Ill.; seven stepgrandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.
Verna was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Irma Petznick; and two brothers, Clarence Petznick and Arnold Petznick.
