Clifford Dan Auringer 1882-1945

Osage – Clifford Auringer, 63, died Thursday night at a Mason City hospital following a heart attack. He had been hospitalized the last week. Tentative funeral arrangements have been made for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Champion Funeral home; burial in Riverside Cemetery at Riceville.

He was born September 1, 1882, near Riceville, the son of Daniel and Maria Auringer. He lived on farms near Riceville until 1920 when he came with his family to Osage. He lived for a short time with his sisters at Monticello, Minnesota.

He leaves eight sisters; Mrs. Z. B. Wildman, Monticello, Minn.; Mrs. T. W. Zilk, Monticello, Minn.; Mrs. Z. B. Dargan, Riceville; Mrs. C. D. Coder, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. L. G. Garver, Minneapolis, Minn.; and Mrs. T. R. Flack; Ella Auringer; and Eva Auringer, all of Osage; and one brother; Floyd, Riceville. Clifford Auringer is the first one of ten in the family to die.

CLIFFORD AURINGER
DIES IN HOSPITAL

Clifford Auringer, 63, of Osage, Iowa, died Thursday evening, August 23, at Mercy hospital in Mason City from heart disease. Hehad been in poor health for some time.

Clifford A. Auringer was born on a farm east of Riceville September 1, 1882, the eldest son of Daniel and Maria Auringer. In early life he attended the rural schools and helped on the farm until 35 years ago. After the death of his father, the family moved to Riceville. He spent many years near Monticello, Minnesota, with relatives. Since 1920 he had been a resident of Osage.

Surviving are eight sisters: Mrs. Z. B. Wildman and Mrs. T. W. Zilk of Monticello, Minnesota; Mrs. C. W. Coder of Oregon City, Oregon; Mrs. Myra Garver of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Mrs. J. B. Dargan of Riceville; Mrs. Reece Flack, Ella, and Eva Auringer of Osage; and one brother, Floyd of Riceville.

Funeral services were held at the Champion funeral home Sunday afternoon, the Rev. Priestley of Riceville officiating. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery at Riceville.
