Are Held At Eden
Church March 11Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Eden Presbyterian church for Justus Henry Brandau. Mr. Brandau was the son of the late Adam and Catherine Stuckrath Brandau. He was born in Rudd, July 6, 1887, and died suddenly and unexpectedly early Sunday morning, March 8, 1953, in the Worrel hospital at Rochester, Minn. He attained an age of 65 years, eight months and two days.
On May 18, 1902, he affiliated with the Eden Presbyterian Church and remained a loyal and faithful member for over 50 years. During these years he served his church as Sunday school superintendent,trustee,deason, and elder.
He was united in marriage with Amalie Wholers on Feb. 18, 1915, and they established their home on a farm north of Rudd. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Chester of Nora Springs and Marvin of Rudd; three daughters, Mrs. Clinton Brandau of Rudd, Irma of Dubuque, and Bernadine of Chicago; five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Andrew Marth of Rudd; and two brothers, Henry of Osage and Edward of Rudd.
The casker bearers were all nephews, Edgar Brandau, Erwin Brandau, Wilbert Brandau, Reuben Brandau, George Brandau and Lawrence Marth.
Mrs. Esther Ahrens of Mason City sang "Safe In The Arms of Jesus" and "Oh Love That Will Not Let Me Go," accompanied by Mrs. John Ohden. Flowers were arranged by Mrs. Edward Ahrens and Mrs. C. E. Schmidt.
The Rev. H.A. Sinning was in charge of the services. Sheckler funeral home arranged the services, with burial in the Eden cemetery.
