Funeral services were held Sunday, March 23rd, at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church for Jorgen Liaeker, 82, long-time resident of Mitchell County. The Rev. S.O. Sorlien officiated and burial was made in the Rock Creek Lutheran cemetery.

Mr. Liaeker was born at Lynner, Hadeland, Norway to Gulbrand Jorgensen and Gulbjor Dynna Liaeker on July 18, 1864. He came to the United States at the age of eighteen and settled in Mitchell County. He was employed in Minneapolis for thirty years, serving part of that time as night watchman for the Minneapolis Police Department. Mr. Liaeker also served over two years in the Army.

In 1941, he was burned severely in an explosion in Minneapolis and had been in failing health since. He lived for some time with his niece, Lizzie Anderson, in Osage. He had been a resident of the Nora Springs Home for three years and the last month lived again with his niece, where he died on March 20, 1947.

Besides the above-mentioned niece, a nephew, Julius Anderson, survives him.
