SANDRA RAE NEWTON
LITTLE CEDAR, IOWA - Sandra Rae Newton, 49, of rural Little Cedar, Mitchell county, Iowa, died Monday (March 27, 2000) at her home following a lengthy illness.
Sandra was born October 18, 1950, at Osage, the daughter of Rolland "Bub" and Bonnie (Coonradt) Church. She was raised on the family farm east of Osage and graduated from Osage High School in 1969.
Sandra was united in marriage to Allen Duane Newton on July 19, 1969, at the First United Methodist Church in Osage. Sandra and Allen were partners, farming north of Osage near Little Cedar where they raised their two sons.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, Bridge Club, Bunco Club and O.W.L.S.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church, 819 Main St., Osage, with the Rev. Arthur L. Hill and the Rev. Kevin Fischer officiating. Interment will be in the Little Cedar Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Champion Funeral Home, 702 State St., in Osage, with the family present from 3 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Allen, of Little Cedar; two sons, Christopher Newton of Mason City and William Newton of Little Cedar; parents, Bub and Bonnie Church, of Osage; two sisters, Lynda Adams and her husband, Roger, of Long Beach, Calif., and Deb Fischer and her husband, Kevin, of Miami, Fla.; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
