ARLA KAY WHERRY
OSAGE - Arla Kay Wherry, 64, of Marseilles, Ill. and Osage, died Sunday (March 18, 2001) at her home near Osage, following a short illness.
Arla was born Oct. 9, 1936 at Osage, the daughter of Hilmer and Pauline (Applehans) Amundson. She attended Osage schools.
Arla was united in marriage to Marvin F. Wherry on Dec. 21, 1952 at Osage. They lived in Osage and then moved to Waukegan, Ill. in 1956. Later they moved to Marsailles, Ill. They were planning on returning to Osage to spend their retirement. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and her loving husband, Marvin.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, with the Rev. Dennis Hanson and the Rev. Roy Ott officiating. Interment will be in the Osage Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, 702 State St. in Osage, and will continue one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin F. Wherry, of Marseilles, Ill. and Osage; two daughters, Rebecca Ann Weeks and her husband, Terrence, of Tucson, Ariz. and their three children, Laura Norris and her husband, Josh and their daughter, Kathryn, Tarah Weeks and William Weeks; and Linda Kay Balch and her husband, James, of Tuscon, Ariz. and their son, Brian Balch; and one sister, Patricia Thompson, of Waterloo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Forrest Wherry in 1976.
