OSAGE, IOWA - Golda May Williams, 94, of Osage died Friday (Feb. 23, 2001) at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar.

Golda was born to Otto L. and Fannie (Nelsen) Nelson at Moulton, on May 3, 1906. The family moved from Moulton to St. Ansgar, where she attended Newburg No. 6 rural school. Golda graduated from Osage High School in 1924. She graduated from Mason City Junior College, and attended Upper Iowa University and the University of Minnesota. She taught at rural schools in Mitchell and Floyd counties. She also taught elementary grades in St. Ansgar and at Sacred Heart in Osage.

Golda was united in marriage to Arthur M. Williams on Dec. 25, 1926, at the First Methodist Church parsonage in Osage. Four children, Garry, Berdene, Marilyn and Hilmore, were born to this union. Golda accepted Christ Jesus as her personal Savior and friend while attending an evening service at the American Sunday School Union Church in Osage. Rev. George Wolf was the minister. She was baptized in Lake Okoboji by Dr. R.R. Brown of Omaha, Neb. Golda was a charter member of the Osage C & M A Church, of the Cedar Valley R T A, and the R T Association. She was an officer and member of the W.C.T.U., Wa-Tan-Ye, and the Osage Women's Club. Long be Golda's memory and the things she has taught us all about living the Christ Life to its fullest. Goodbye, from her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in Osage with the Rev. Rick Magstadt officiating. Interment will be in Osage Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, 702 State St., Osage, and continue one hour prior to services at the church Tuesday.

Survivors include two daughters, Berdene Sewright and her husband, Sterling, of Osage, and Marilyn Malaise and her husband, Dale, of La Cygne, Kan.; one son, Hilmore "Sonny" Williams and his wife, Georgia, of Austin, Minn.; one brother, Louis "Tip" Taylor and his wife, Elizabeth, of Lyle, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
