MRS. NICHOLAS RITES TO BE AT MCINTIREMrs. Annie Kinter Nicholas, 86, died at a Mason City Hospital at 3:30 p.m. Monday following an illness. She had been a resident of Mason City for the past 13 years.
Mrs. Nicholas was born April 13, 1865, in Mitchell County near Stacyville. She was married to John F. Nicholas, February 19, 1884, and they made their home on a farm in Mitchell County, where they farmed until 1910, when they moved to McIntire.
Mrs. Nicholas lived at McIntire for 30 years until she came to Mason City December 17, 1937, to make her home with her daughter, Miss Lena Nicholas, 951 East State.
Surviving are a son, Maynard Nicholas, Centralia, Wash., two daughters; Miss Lena Nicholas, Mason City; and Mrs. J. W. (Charlotte) Ezra, Irving, Ill., 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, a sister; Mrs. Edith Fessenmeyer, St. Paul, Minn., and two brothers; Otto Kinter, Indianapolis, Ind., and Henry Kinter, McIntire.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, Frank, in 1938, and Clark, in 1934, and one brother. Mrs. Nichols was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at the First Baptist church at McIntire, with the Rev. E. H. Thorlakson, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be at Wayne Cemetery, McIntire.
The body will lie in state at McAuley and Son chapel until 10 a.m. Wednesday and will then be taken to the church at McIntire for services.Mason City Globe Gazette, Tuesday, June 19, 1951

Annie D. Kinter was born Ap. 13, 1865 near Stacyville, Mitchell County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Christian Kinter and Avilla (Porter) Kinter. She married John Franklin Nicholas, the son of Henry Nicholas Mary (Bevan) Nicholas.
