Ruby Catherine Sullivan
ROCKFORD, IOWA - Ruby Catherine Sullivan, 84, of Rockford, died Monday (May 6, 1996) at her home in Rockford.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Name Catholic Church, with the Rev. Roger Katz officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage.
Visitation will be held after 4 p.m. today at Holy Name Catholic Church, with a 7 p.m. parish prayer service. Schumburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ruby was born Nov. 24, 1911, the daughter of James Seth and Alice Elizabeth Duffy Canoe at Monona. She was a resident of Rockford since July of 1937. Ruby became a registered nurse in 1933 as a graduate of the three year nursing program at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City. She was the night supervisor at the hospital for several years.
On Sept. 30, 1943, Ruby became the bride of Bernard C. Sullivan at Camp Stoneman, Calif.
She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Ann Sullivan of Manchester; two sisters, Mable Daly and Mary Gayther, both of Charles City; and a granddaughter, Ann Sullivan of Waterloo.
