ILLNESS FATAL TO A. SLINDEE
Funeral services for a Mona area resident, Algie Slindee, 53, were held at the Mona Lutheran church. Mr. Slindee died July 31, 1976 at Mitchell County Memorial hospital after being confined there several weeks as the result of a malignancy.
The Rev. Gaylord Grant, pastor, performed the rites and burial was in First Lutheran cemetery in St. Ansgar.
Algie Bernett Slindee was born March 27, 1923, near Verndale, Minnesota, the son of Arnold and Bertha Anderson Slindee. He was baptized at the Little Cedar church in Adams, Minnesota, and confirmed at Six Mile Grove Lutheran church. He completed his education in the Adams area.
Jurene L. Stubberud and Mr. Slindee were married April 1, 1944 in Lyle. They farmed in the St. Ansgar-Lyle areas, then he operated a garage in Otranto before moving to Charles City where he was engaged as a mechanic. In 1968 they moved to rural Lyle where he worked as a mechanic and farmed.
Surviving are his wife, Jurene; two sons, Algie A. of West Salem, Wis., Emanuel of Lyle, one daughter, Terrie of Lyle; two grandchildren; his parents, Arnold and Bertha Slindee of Lyle; three brothers, Arthur and Donald of Lyle and Virgil of Rose Creek, Minn.; several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

LYLE, MINNESOTA - Algie B. Slindee, 53, died Saturday at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage of cancer. Services at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mona Lutheran Church. Burial in First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar, Mitchell county, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Jurene; two sons, Algie of West Salem, Wisconsin and Emanuel of Lyle, Minnesota; a daughter, Terrie at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Slindee of Lyle, Minnesota; three brothers: Arthur and Donald of Lyle, and Virgil of Rose Creek, Minnesota.
Worlene Funeral Home at Austin, Minnesota, is in charge of arrangements.
