OSAGE, IOWA — Donald G. Clark, 88, of Osage, died Friday, March 5, 1999, at Osage Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Osage.
Donald was born October 7, 1910, at Seward, Illinois, the son of George & Mary Jane (Smythe) Clark. He attended Seward schools and graduated from Orchard High School in 1927.
Donald married Winnifred Tyrrell on May 5, 1934, at Ames, Iowa. They first made their home in Orchard and later Osage. Donald was employed as a farmhand and later worked for Osage Farmers Produce, Young & Loften Veterinarians and Stang Farm & Home Supply.
Donald enjoyed caning chairs, and refinishing furniture. He also enjoyed horses, birds and nature. He very much enjoyed his family and especially his grandchildren.
Donald was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of Eastern Star and Past Patron. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Osage.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 8, 1999, at the First United Methodist Church, in Osage, with the Rev. Robert Barrick officiating. Burial will be in Osage Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the Champion Funeral Home, in Osage, with a Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. There will also be visitation one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
He is survived by two daughters, Marijane Bowman, of Rock Island, Illinois; and Shari Moulder and husband, Robert, of Eden Prairie, Minn.; four grandchildren, Charles Moulder, Jack Moulder, Tara Moulder, and Meghan Moulder; one brother, Paul Clark, of Rockford, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Winnifred; one son, Gary; six brothers; and five sisters.
