William Kruger

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, April 16, 1988 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Riceville, for William “Bill” Kruger, 91, of Riceville. Pastor Robert Pfeil officiated and burial was in the Lutheran Cemetery, Riceville. Mr. Kruger died Tuesday, April 12, 1988 at the Riceville nursing home.

He was born October 21, 1896, the son of Christian and Elsie (Heller) Kruger. He was a farm laborer all his life.

His parents and his wife preceded him in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Deloris Brockney of Riceville, Mrs. Doris Starr and Mrs. Donna Hermann, both of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Dorothea Guetzlaff of Watertown, Wisconsin. One brother, Roland Kruger of Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

NOTES:

He was found in the 1940 Census for East Lincoln twp., Mitchell County, Iowa. William Kruger, age 44, and wife, Dorothy, age 37. Also
listed were his children: Duane, Doris, Deloris, Diana, and Donald.

Not sure if Diana is really Donna. And not sure what happened to Duane and Donald.

The SSDI shows a Duane Kruger, born 24 JUL 1925 and died in August 1973.

The grave-records.mooseroots.com/ shows a Donald V. Kruger, born 8 DEC 1936 and died 1 FEB 1997, and buried in Linwood cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
