OSAGE, IOWA - Marvin J. Rogers, 76, of Osage died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010, in Osage.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery with military honors at the grave by Osage V.F.W. Post 7920.

Visitation will be 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 5:30 p.m. and a Scripture wake service at 7:30 p.m.

Marvin was born May 28, 1934, in Osage, the son of Joseph and Mabel (Weinberger) Rogers. He was educated in rural schools and then served in the United States Army.

Marvin was united in marriage to Beverly Lepper on May 12, 1962, in Mason City. They lived and raised their family in Osage. Beverly passed away in January 2002. Marvin was united in marriage to Marilyn Schaefer on Nov. 26, 2004, in Meyer. They made their home in Osage. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Marvin enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Marilyn Rogers of Osage; five children, Laurinda (Bob) Darling of Ankeny, Curt (Dee) Rogers of Clear Lake, Sandra (James) Wohkittel of Polk City, Kevin (Cindy) Rogers of Osage and Joanne (Dennis) Kuntz of Ames; 12 grandchildren, Elissa and Jerad Darling, Becca Rogers, J.J., Max and Shawn Wohkittel, Kala and Lucas Rogers, and Brittany, Kaitlin, Jorden and Kaden Kuntz; six step-children, MaryLou (Gary) Byrd of Donahue, David Schaefer of Edina, Minn., Alan (Judy) Schaefer of Blooming Prairie, Minn., Jane (Jim) Kramer of Oakton, Va., Brian (Kim) Schaefer of Stacyville, Vicky (Ron) Richard, Galena, Ill.; 14 step-grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry Rogers of Osage, Galen Rogers of Austin, Minn., and Brother Damian Rogers of Collegeville, Minn.; six sisters, Marie Boerjan of St. Ansgar, Monica Faas of Stacyville, Marilyn (Bob) Doyle of Melrose, Minn., Eileen Kleckner of Osage, Kathleen (Jim) Prokapec of Claremont, Minn., and Lorriane (Joe) Prokapec of Owatonna, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Beverly; and two brothers, Maurice and Clair Rogers.
