MRS WHEELER, RICEVILLE, DIES
Aged Woman Suffered Fall, Never RecoveredOsage – Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Shelladys funeral home at 1 o’clock for Mrs. Walter Wheeler, 88, who died Sunday morning at the home of her cousin, Mrs. Fannie Genke, at Riceville. Services will be in charge of the Free Methodist pastor at Riceville, with another service at Riceville at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Wheeler suffered a fall, last October, from which she has never recovered.
Mrs. Wheeler was born Lillian Patterson, one of 9 children, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Patterson, early pioneers in the Grove district near Riceville. She grew to girlhood in the Riceville community and there married Walter Wheeler. They retired to Osage in 1912. He died in 1940.
Two daughters were born, Eunice who died as a girl, and Mrs. Wirt Roe, also deceased.
Surviving are 2 brothers, Dr. David Patterson and Dr. Harry Patterson of Long Beach, California; one sister; Rena Patterson Campbell near Bozeman, Montana.
