Services to Be at 2 P.m. at ChurchFuneral services for Mrs. Jennie VanKleek, 78, who died Friday at a local nursing home, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational church, with the Rev. Peter J. Jensen officiating.
Mrs. Van Kleek was born December 18, 1871, at Osage, Mitchell County, Iowa.
She was the widow of the late James VanKleek, and was a resident of Mason City for 38 years.
She taught Sunday school for 33 years, many of which were in the First Congregational church, and taught school 40 years, the last of which was at Garfield school in Mason City.Surviving are a son, L. VanKleek, Dubuque; a granddaughter, Joan, Dubuque; a brother, William Coulthurst, in Califoria; two nieces, Mrs. Eva Link and Mrs. S. J. Brubaker, in California; and a nephew Harold Coulthurst, in California. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother.
Mrs. VanKleek was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the O.E.S Unity Chapter No. 58, the First Congregational church, the Congregational Guild Group No. 2, and the Energetic Class of the Congregational church. Throughout her life she had been very active in community work.
Friends may call at the Patterson-James chapel. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery. The Patterson-James funeral home I charge.

Jennie Coulthurst VanKleek was the daughter of William and Mary Jane (Fairhurst) Coulthurst, both buried in the Osage Cemetery.
