Helmer Hanson's Daughter Dies

The five year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Helmer Hanson of north of St. Ansgar died at 8:30 o'clock last Sunday evening after a brief illness of some unusual and peculiar ailment. Tuesday she complained that her ankle hurt her a little. Wednesday it became worse and Thursday she sank into a stupor. Saturday Dr. Savre came up from Osage and counseled with Dr. Westenberger and performed an operation on her foot. But all was to no avail. There were no marks of any injury on her foot in any place.

Later Dr. Torkelson was called from Lyle but the efforts of the three doctors could not arrest the progress of the fatal malady. She roused from the stupor for a short time on Saturday afternoon and after speaking a few words relapsed again into unconsciousness and remained so until the end came.

Clarice Bennetta Hanson was born near St. Ansgar March 21, 1905, and was five years one month and eighteen days of age at the time of her death. She was a bright, healthy and beautiful child and her untimely death is a great blow to her parents and brother.

The funeral was conducted by Reverend Waldeland Tuesday at 12:30 from the home and at two o'clock at the U. N. L. Church. The burial was at the St. Ansgar U. N. L. Cemetery. The parents have the sincere sympathy of all.

1910
