MYRTLE LUSK-KUENKEL
OSAGE, IOWA - Myrtle Lusk-Kuenkel, 86, died Sunday (Sept. 24, 2000) at Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, Osage, with the Rev. George Hope and the Rev. Gary Gilbert officiating. Interment will be at Osage Cemetery.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage. The family will be present to greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour before services at the church Thursday.
Myrtle was born June 6, 1914, in LaPorte City, the daughter of Melvin and Tina (Jones) Sissel. She attended schools in Charles City. Myrtle worked for several years at Karwac Bakery and was a cook at both nursing homes in Osage.
She was united in marriage to Edwin Lusk on April 16, 1932, in Charles City. Five boys were born to this union, Edwin Jr., Daniel, John, Roland and Joseph. Edwin Lusk Sr. passed away in 1967.
Myrtle was united in marriage to Glenn Kuenkel on November 16, 1974, in Osage.
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church; she was on the Deaconess Board and Christian Education Board. She was a Sunday school teacher and the president of the A.B.W.
Myrtle is survived by her husband, Glenn Kuenkel of Osage; two daughters, Cheryl Duck and her husband, Miles, of Mason City and Colleen Gamble and her husband, Scott, of Mason City; five sons, Edwin D. Lusk Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Fernley, Nev., Daniel Lusk of Jonesville, Vt., John Lusk and his wife, Betty, of Harlan, Iowa, Roland Lusk and his wife, Charlotte, of St. Ignatius, Mont., and Joseph Lusk and his wife, Linda, of Fort Worth, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin; three sisters; and two brothers.
