OSAGE, IOWA — Rollin F. Bcchtum, 38, and Osage businessman, died Sunday at a Rochester hospital from injuries suffered in an accident Thursday night near Stewartville, Minnesota.
Born August 7, 1927, at Riceville, he was the son of Fred and Elsie Bechtum. He was a veteran of World War II and was owner and operator of Osage Recreation.
He was married August 3, 1948 to Wilma Jean Naph, Riceville.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Loren, his mother, Osage; three brothers, Kenneth and Robert, Riceville; Mark, Osage; a sister, Mrs. Clay Barnhart, Union, Missouri.

Hwy. 63 VictimOSAGE, IOWA - Rollin F. Bechtum 38, who was injured in a traffic accident near Stewartville, Minnesota, Friday morning, died Sunday afternoon in St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota.
He was riding in a car driven by Dean Heffron, an Osage policeman. Heffron was reportedly turning west on Hwy. 63 a mile north of Stewartville when hit by an oncoming car.
Bechtum, who lost both legs during World War II, operated a recreation parlor here.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with burial in the Osage Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma; a son, Loren, at home; his mother, Mrs. Elsie Bechtum, Osage; three brothers, Kenneth and Robert, both of Riceville, and Mark, Osage, and a sister, Mrs. Clay Barnhart, Union, Missouri.
Champion Funeral Home is in charge.
