ROZELLVILLE, WISCONSIN -- Mrs. Loretta K. Griesbach, 95, Stratford, died August 4, 1994, at St. Joseph ’s Hospital Hospice Care Unit. She had been admitted to the hospital July 23.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew’s with Rev. Joseph R. Konopacky officiating. Her son, Silvan Griesbach, will be organist for the St. Andrew’s Church choir. Grandsons serving as pallbearers will be Russell Sterzinger, Tim Sterzinger, Glenn Griesbach, William Griesbach, James Griesbach and Raymond Kohlbeck.
Visitation will be at Rembs/Kundinger Chapel, Marshfield, after 4 p.m. Sunday and then at the church from 10 a.m. until service time Monday. A St. Andrew’s Parish Scripture Rosary Service, combined with a St. Ann’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers Rosary Service and a St. Andrew’s Parish Council of Catholic Women Rosary Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
Burial will be in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Rozellville.
She was born September 19, 1898, in Stacyville, Mitchell county, Iowa, to Lambert and Margaret (May) Brost. She attended Stacyville schools through eighth grade. She came to Rozellville with her parents in 1919. As a young woman, she was employed in Menasha, then later in Rozellville.
She married Alois A. Griesbach, Oct. 30, 1923, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Rozellville. Following their marriage, they were engaged in farming in the town of Day until 1957, when they retired and moved to Rozellville. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1973.
Her husband died on September 26, 1980. She continued to live in Rozellville until the time of her death.
She was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Rozellville; the St. Ann’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers Society and the St. Andrew’s Parish Council of Catholic Women.
One daughter, Mrs. Maxine (Mike) Seidl of Marshfield, a son, Silvan F. Griesbach of Stratford ; a brother, Lawrence Brost of Arpin; one sister, Mrs. Delphine Bleichrot of Muskego ; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren survive her.
