Ruby Goodale, age 73, of Osage, died Saturday, September 18, 2010, at the Faith Home in Osage, of pancreatic cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage with Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a rosary at 4:30 p.m.
Ruby was born January 7, 1937, in Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of Ray and Marie (Clark) Boggess. She married Kenneth Goodale on June 27, 1953, in Ionia, Iowa. They farmed in the Osage area, moving to Osage in 1984. Ruby was a homemaker, and also was employed at Bob’s East End Market and TOPS Business Forms. She enjoyed her family, cooking and baking, fishing, playing cards, gambling, socializing and helping others. Ruby especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in sporting events.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Iowa Hospice and the Faith Home for the excellent care that was given to Ruby.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Kenneth Goodale; daughter-in-law, Cindy Brandau and daughter, Valerie Williams and her children, Emma, Zach and Nolan, and daughter, Michelle Goodale and her daughters, Jacey and Jalynn; son, Richard (Nancy) Goodale; son, Russell (Xany Gibson) Goodale and children, Jessica, Jenna and Jobe; son, Ralph (Eden Hall) Goodale and children, Mathias, MacKenzie and Wyatt; son, Ronald (Debbie) Goodale and children, Trent (Sara McMann) and their daughter, Bella, Theran, Tallia and Thatcher; son, Reginald (Angie) Goodale and children, Lauren, Mallorie, and Olivia; son, Rodney (Sonia Mayer) Goodale; daughter, Roxanne (Donnie) Tusler and children, Courtney and Garrett; sisters, Phyllis (Denny) Stock, Donna (Dean) Lynch; and brother, Donald (Lanora) Boggess.
She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Goodale; her grandson-in-law, Matt Williams; her parents; a brother, Jerry Boggess; and two sisters, Wilma Fisher and Lorraine Boggess.
