OSAGE, IOWA - Funeral rites will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Champion Funeral Home for Howard Willey, 77, who died, late Sunday afternoon at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. Burial will be in the Osage City Cemetery.
Born to Charles and Elizabeth Willey on August 15, 1874, at Bennett, Iowa. On November 28, 1900, he married Edna Louise Bagley. The couple lived at Bennett until 1911, when they moved to a farm in Burr Oak Township near Osage where they lived until 1937, when they retired to Osage. He had been hospitalized since January 4th.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Lester, Washington, Iowa; Russell, Wadena, Minnesota; two daughters, Mrs. Willington Louis, Osage; Cleo, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; two brothers, Foster, 510 Argyle Street, Waterloo, and Roger, 1209 Mulberry Waterloo; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Zuck, Poplar, Montana, and Mrs. Charles Roderdee, Cedar Rapids; and nine grandchildren;
Preceding him in death was a sister, Mrs. May Gates.
He served as secretary of Burr Oak Township school board for many years, was director of Osage Cooperative elevator. He served as director of the Mitchell County Fair board for many years and as bailiff of Mitchell county court for many years.
