Alice (Millard) Hovelson–Woodiwiss 1884-1962

ALICE WOODIWISS DIES AT OSAGE; RITES PENDING

Osage – Mrs. Alice Woodiwiss, 78, died Saturday night at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital.

Alice Millard was born in 1894 near Osage to Elmer and Mary Millard. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Roy Hovelson and Charles Woodiwiss.

Surviving are two sons, Herbert Hovelson, New Hartford; Millard Hovelson, Clear Lake; a daughter, Mrs. Florence Swanson, Osage; three sisters, Mrs. Inez Dunn; Mrs. G. O. Lashbrook and Mrs. Harry Johnson, all of Osage; a brother, Reed Millard, Osage; four stepson and stepdaughters.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Champion Funeral Home.

Alice Millard was the daughter of Elmer Reed Millard (1853-1943) and Mary Ann (Nicholas) Millard (1858-1929).

She was buried in the Osage Cemetery.

Her first husband was John Roy Hovelson, the son of John Hovelson and Jane (Paulson) Hovelson. Roy, as he was known by, was born August 18, 1883 and died September 11, 1935.

Her second husband was Charles Henry Woodiwiss who was born June 8, 1877, and died November 7, 1955.
