ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Funeral services were here Monday for Mrs. Louis J. Cerny, of Thief River Falls, Minnesota, burial in East Cemetery.
Born in New York City, April 28, 1869, the daughter of Vaclav and Theresa (Sefcik) Cerny (aka Cherney), she came to this vicinity with parents and married Louis J. Cerny, January 7, 1888, the son of Frank and Mary (Mudra) Cerny. They lived on a farm near St. Ansgar until 1904, when they moved to Thief River Falls. Her husband died in 1943. She was a member of Royal Neighbors and Bohemian Fraternal Association. She died Friday.
She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Brommerich, St. Paul, Minnesota and Mrs.Paul (Emma) Deschane, Grand Forks, N.D.; two sons, Oscar, Thief River Falls, and Louis Jr., of Argyle, Minnesota; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Peterman and Mrs. Emil (Emma) Sedlacek Covina, California, and two brothers, Joseph, St. Ansgar, and Emil Cherney, Janesville.
