Arnold Warren was born August 6, 1917 in Bruce Wisconsin to Edward and Hildur Warren. His father passed away while he was a baby and his mother moved her family to Osage in 1921.

He graduated from Osage High School in 1934 and from Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa in 1936. While at Waldorf he met Rose Anderson, but did not date her until she came to Osage to teach school. After graduating from Waldorf he returned to Osage and worked for Birum Auto.

On June 20, 1843 he married Rose Anderson in Elmore, Minnesota. He became the father of Virginia Lee on March 22, 1944 and Elizabeth Ann on July 29, 1947. Virginia is now Mrs. C. W. Hirt of Los Alamos, New Mexico and Elizabeth is Mrs. Dale Mooberry of Osage.

He began selling Lutheran Brotherhood in 1946. In January, 1950 he formed a partnership with Ralph Burnham and Burnham Warren Insurance Agency was formed. The two men also ran a loan company called Northern Loan Company from that office located at 625 1/2 Main Street. When Ralph retired in January of 1963, the agency became known as Warren Insurance Agency. Although he sold the business to his daughter, Elizabeth and her husband, Dale Mooberry in 1980. he remained active in the agency until his retirement in September of 1986.

Arnold served as the youngest mayor in Osage when elected in 1949. He served as secretary of the Osage Public School Board for 30 years, was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church Choir for 60 years, serving as director for 33 of those years, was a member of a local barbershop quarter, now called The Uncalled Four, for 27 years. He was a charter member of the Osage Kiwanis Club, was fundraising chairman for the construction of Faith Lutheran Nursing Home and was a public library director. In October, 1986, Arnold was presented the Waldorf College Alumni Distinguished Services Award.

Well known for his love of music, woodcarving talent and rose gardener, Arnie shared his talent freely with all.

He lost his battle to cancer on March 21, 1987 and is buried beside Rose in the Osage Cemetery.
