MISS JULIA CHERNY, 64, DIES AT HANNIBAL, MO.
Osage – Committal services were held Thursday for Julia Cherny, at the Osage cemetery. The Rev. Stiles Lessly officiated. Burial was in the family lot.
Miss Cherny died at Hannibal, Missouri, Tuesday. Funeral rites were held at Hannibal Wednesday.
Julia Frances Cherny was born in 1879 at Osage, daughter of John and Mary (Korney) Cherny. She attended the Osage schools, from which she was graduated, then attended the University of Iowa. She was graduated from a nurse’s training course and went to Hannibal. She was a nurses supervisor for 5 years at the Levering hospital, and has been superintendent for the past 25 years.
As a young woman she affiliated with the Methdodist church.
She is survived by 2 brothers, Charles R. Cherny of Shenandoah and John L. Cherney of Independence.
