Thomas A. Martin, 79
Died At Oakdale

Funeral services for a former Osage resident, Thomas Martin, 79, were held recently at Westminister Memorial Park, Garden Grove, Calif.
Mr. Martin died at the state tuberculosis sanitorium in Oakdale, Iowa, where he had been a patient several years.

Thomas E. Martin was born at Floyd, Sept. 14, 1885, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Martin.

He was employed in the office of the James A. Smith lumber company in Little Cedar, was active in community affairs and interested in Farm Bureau, and soil and wildlife conservation.

Due to ill health he retired from farming and made his home with his sister, Sylvia Martin in Aplington, and in Osage until he was admitted to the hospital in Oakdale.

His parents and one sister, Mildred Martin, preceed him in death.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Oliver Wickey and Bernice Martin in California, and Sylvia Martin in Aplington.
