ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Delene F. Sheldon, 80, of St. Ansgar, died Thursday (Nov. 16, 2000) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
The funeral will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Ted Stowers of the United Methodist Church of St. Ansgar officiating. Burial will be in St. Ansgar Cemetery.
Visitation will begin after 10 a.m. Monday at the Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar, (641) 736-4920.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 20, 2000 at Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, for Delene F. Sheldon, age 80, of St. Ansgar. Rev. Ted Stowers officiated and burial was in the St. Ansgar Cemetery. She died Nov. 16, 2000 at Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage. Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, was in charge of arrangements.
Delene F. Sheldon was born April 15, 1920 in St. Ansgar the daughter of Jens C. and Nettie M. (Koch) Peterson. She graduated from high school in 1938.
In Nov. of 1942 she was united in marriage to Melborne (Shorty) Sheldon in Austin, MN. From 1942 to 1945, she worked for the produce house. To this union, two children were born, a daughter, Cindy (Sheldon) Alder and a son, Kim Sheldon. Delene loved to sew, bake and play games.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Shorty; one sister, Mildred Warrington; one brother, Leonard Warrington.
Delene is survived by a daughter, Cindy and her husband, Ron Alder of St. Ansgar; a son, Kim Sheldon of St. Ansgar; two grandsons, Jake Alder and Jeff and his wife Karla Alder; three great-grandchildren, Courtney, Emily and Levi Alder; sisters-in-law, Leona Warrington and Alvina Sheldon.
