Dr. Azro Delos Bundy 1841-1913
The St. Ansgar community was fortunate to have a doctor locate here at an early date. Dr. Parks was the first doctor. Then Dr. Rogers came; remaining only two years. Dr. Bundy arrived in 1865 and was the doctor of the community for many years. Even after he moved to Osage in 1898 he was still called to care for the St. Ansgar sick.

Azro Delos Bundy is the son of Delos Bundy, who was born 10/6/1813 at either Otego or Otsego, New York, and died 8/18/1885 at St. Ansgar, Iowa. Delos was married on 10/6/1840 to Elvira Jenks. Elvira was born 12/3/1817 at Otego or Otsego, N.Y. and died 11/17/1906. She was the daughter of Levi Tower Jenks and Hannah Brightman Jenks. Interestingly, Levi Jenks is a descendant of a Mayflower passenger.
Azro Bundy's siblings include:
1. Adaliza Beaufort Bundy, born 1843, died 1899; she married Byron Mason Colwell, born 1842, died 1930.
2. David Rotche Bundy, born 1850, died 1931; he married Cathrine Ross.
3. Ida Eudora Bundy, born 1864, died 1899; she married William Swift.
4. Clifford Seeley Bundy, born 1869, died 1899; he married Lilliam Bromley, who was born 1860, and died in 1914.
5. Charles D. Bundy, born 1876, died 1929.

Dr. Bundy was married on December 25, 1863 at Rio, Wisconsin, to Mary Levina Kingsley. Mary was born August 9, 1844, and she died on November 28, 1928. They were parents of eight children:
1. Minnie Elvira Bundy; born 1864, died 1948.
2. Cora Adaliza Bundy; born 1866, died 1934.
3. Edna Mae Bundy; born 1868, died 1957.
4. Franklin Delos Bundy; born 1870, died 1883.
5. Azro Jay Bundy; born 8/21/1872 at St. Ansgar, Iowa, died 1/26/1926 at Portland, Oregon. He was married on 5/4/1892 at West Duluth, Minnesota, to Pearl Henrietta McKinley. She was born 8/12/1873 at St. Ansgar, Iowa, and died 7/1934 at Portland, Oregon.
6. Irvine R. Bundy; born 1873, died 1940.
7. Ida Belle Bundy; born 1876, died 1907. She was married to Hermon Lule McIntyre, who was born in 1877.
8. William Bryan Bundy; born 1880, died 1923.

Birth date from Passport Applications 1795-1925. Application 1919: Irving Rotche Bundy born December 27, 1878, St. Ansgar, living in Kirksville, Adair County, Missouri, occupation librarian. The December 1878 also agrees with the 1900 Census.
He married Genevieve Gladys Martin. In 1930 they were living in St. Joseph, Buchanon, Missouri.
Irving R., 52, Genevieve 47, Catherine 21, Elizabeth 19 and his sister Cora 66 was living with them.
In 1951 he is still listed in the St. Joseph, Missouri City Directory as Irving R Bundy, Librarian at the St. Joseph Free Public Library.
7. Ida Belle Bundy; born July 1877, died May 23, 1907 in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. (Wisconsin death records Ida B McIntyre) She was married to Harmon Lyle McIntyre, who was born in Aprl 17, 1878 and died in British Columbia, Canada in 1964. He remarried after Ida died.
8. William Byron Bundy; born June 17, 1882, died 1923.
