OSAGE, IOWA - Arlene Shelton, 64, of Osage died Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 14, at the New Covenant Fellowship Church, 2098 335th St., rural Osage. Interment will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to the family at 333 Main St., Osage, IA 50461.

Arlene Shelton, age 64, of Osage, died Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage. Arlene was born December 24, 1945, in Charlotte, Michigan, the daughter of Louis and Genevieve (Swift) Funk. On February 14, 1965, she married Pastor Jim Shelton in Stuart, Florida. Arlene worked as a church secretary. She was a member of the New Covenant Fellowship Church and the Alpha Writers. Arlene enjoyed going to church, creative writing, entertaining and decorating.

Arlene is survived by her husband, Pastor Jim Shelton of Osage; two daughters, Kellie Barberi of Pensacola, Florida, Susan (Michael) Aleckson of Joplin, Missouri; one granddaughter, Kristen Barberi of Pensacola, Florida; two grandsons, Joshua Aleckson and Dylan Aleckson, both of Joplin, Missouri; her mother, Genevieve Funk of Palm City, Florida; and four brothers, Louis Funk, Paul (Susan) Funk, (Judy) Funk and Russell Funk.
She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Funk; her grandson, A.J. Barberi;and her brother, George Funk.
