Charlotte Marie (nee Proett) Ahrens, was born September 6, 1874 in Herman, Missouri, and died August 20, 1962 in Osage.

Mrs. Ahrens Dies at Osage; Rites ThursdayOsage---Mrs. Henry J. Ahrens, 87, died Monday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital here. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Eden Presbyterian Church, preceded by a prayer service at the Edward Ahrens Home, Rudd. The Rev. Marvin Camp will officiate and burial will be in Eden Presbyterian Cemetery with Champion Funeral Home in charge.
Charlotte Marie Proett, daughter of Antone and Charlotte Proett, was born in Herman, Mo. She was married there to Henry J. Ahrens, October 28, 1903. They moved to Osage in 1947. Since his death in 1959 she had lived with her daughter, Esther, principal of Lincoln School, Mason City.
Surviving are two daughters, Esther, Mason City; Mrs. Edward Smolik, Osage; three sons, Edward P., Rudd; the Rev. Chester Ahrens, Renville, Minn.; the Rev. Milton Ahrens, Carleton, Minn.; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

According to the WWI Draft Registration , Henry Jacob Ahrens was born April 10, 1877. He and Charlotte were living in Webster County, Nebraska.
He was the son of Edward Ahrens and Catherine (Phillips) Ahrens who are both buried in the Eden Presbyterian Cemetery, Meroa, Mitchell, Iowa
