Frank Smolik Dies at Osage; Rites Monday
Osage, Iowa — Frank Smolik, 80 died Friday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Obert Hoven will officiate. Burial will be in Osage Cemetery with Champion Funeral Home in charge.
Born in Czechoslovakia, March 31, 1880, he came to the U.S. with his parents Karl and Kate Smolik, when 12. They lived near Weston, Nebraska. He was married March 1, 1904, to Anna Cezak** and came to a farm northeast of Osage in 1924. In 1944 they retired to Osage.
Surviving are his wife, five sons, Edward, George and Raymond, all of Osage; Ernest, Orchard; Duane, San Jose, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Helen Lund, Stanwood; Libbie, Chicago; Mrs. Lydia Deal, Nevada and Mrs. Jerry Michels, Osage, 16 grandchildren and a great grandchild.
