Is Victim of Mishap Injuries
OSAGE, IOWA — Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at St. John’s Lutheran church in charge of the Rev. Mr. Kintzmann for Alvin G. Roehr, 74, who died Saturday morning at the Savre hospital from injuries received when he was plowing with a tractor in a field near his home late Friday afternoon.
Born in Germany, Mr. Roehr came to this country when he was 7 years old. He lived in Mitchell county more than 30 years.
Surviving are his widow; three daughters: Mrs. Elsie Lohr and Mrs. Ella Howe, both of Rockford, and Mrs. Herman Brandau of Waterloo; five sons: Loren of Rudd, Clyde of Lyle, Minn., Leonard of Osage, Donald, Waterloo, and Dale at home. Burial was in the Osage cemetery.

Osage, Iowa -- Alvin G. ROehr, 74, died at 1:30 Saturday at Savre hospital in Osage from injuries received in a tractor acident late Friday afternoon on his farm four miles southwest of Osage in Cedar township, on which he had lived for about 25 years.
Mr. Roehr was alone in the field plowing with a tractor when the accident occurred.
TRACTOR HITS OBJECT
Apparently the tractor struck something as he attempted to turn a corner and ran into the woven fence as Roehr lost control, throwing him to the ground and crushing his left side as both tractor and plow ran over him.
The injured man started to crawl from the field and had gone a considerable distance before he was found by Lloyd Lonergan, the hired man, who had gone to the field to investigate after his employer did not return about 7 o'clock.
RIB PRESSES ON HEART
A broken rib pressing on his heart caused Roehr's death at the hospital.
He leaves besides his widow, three daughters: Mrs. A.C. Lohr and Mrs. Floyd Howell, both of Rockford; and Mrs. Herman Brandau, Waterloo; five sons: Loren, Rudd; Clyde, Lyle, Minnesota; Leonard, Osage; Donald, Waterloo, and Dale at home.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Champion funeral home and at 2:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cedar township. Burial will be in Osage.
