Dean Beckner dies at 62, Rites TentativeOsage---Dean Beckner, 62, died Sunday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. He had been ill the last year with cancer. He had been an employee of the Mitchell County highway commission 35 years.
Funeral services are tentatively set for Wednesday afternoon at the Faith Lutheran church, Mitchell, with burial in the Mitchell Cemeetery. Champion Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born in August, 1897, in Rosewell, South Dakota, he was the son of George and Mary Beckner. The family moved to Riceville and then to Mitchell while he was a child. He was married to Anna Madsen, in 1918.
Survivors are his wife, a son, Emmett, Minneapolis; a daughter Phyllis, at home; three grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Roland Ham, Hitchell. An infant son preceded him in death.

Dean Beckner rites set Wednesday at Mitchell church.Osage—Funeral services for Dean Beckner, 62, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m at the Faith Lutheran Church, Mitchell with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. The Rev. William Kampke will officiate and Champion Funeral Home will be in charge.
