Mrs. J. Brandau Dies at 83; Rites Thursday
Nora Springs---Mrs. John A. Brandau, 83, Rudd, died at the Cedar Valley Hospital, Charles City, on Monday. She had suffered a stroke April 29 from which she never recovered.
Funeral services will be held at the Eden Presbyterian Church, north of Rudd, at 2 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in the Eden Presbyterian Cemetery (Meroa, Mitchell, Iowa). The Rev. Marvin L Camp will officiate. Sheckler Funeral Home, Nora Springs is in charge.
Mrs. Brandau, nee Gertrude Mausehund was born in Heinabach Germany, December 2, 1876. She had lived at Rudd since 1893. She was married to John Brandau, October 22, 1894. Surviving are four children, Mrs. Harm (Emma) Kupker, Charles City; Elmer Brandau, Lloyd Brandau and Clinton Brandau, all of Rudd. Survivors also include a brother, Herbert Mausehund, Mason City; a sister, Mrs. John (Martha) Schrom, Grangeville, Idaho; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
