OSAGE, IOWA - Funeral rites are indefinite for Mrs. Herman Brandau, 66, who died at her home, 605 State Street, Monday; nee Anna B. Jung, daughter of John and Elizabeth Hilmes Jung.

She was born June 7, 1879, at Charles City; attended Charles City schools and was married in Charles City in 1899 to Herman Brandau.

They established their home in Cedar Township, where they lived the major portion of their wedded life and retired to Osage in 1944.

Mrs. Brandau being in ill health, having never fully recovered from a major operation in 1938.

She leaves her husband; four sons: Ralph, Rudd, Milton, Charles City, Pfc. Herman, San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Wilmer, on the home farm near Osage; three daughters: Mrs. Mabel Troge, Charles City, Mrs. Ruby Weatherwax, Charles City, Viola, at home in Osage; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. P. H. Kehm, Mason City; and Mrs. William Watkins, Charles City; and one brother, Louis Jung, Charles City.

Six brothers preceded her in death.

OSAGE WOMAN DIES
AFTER SHORT ILLNESS

Mrs. Anna Brandau, 66, died at her home on State Street Monday, October 1, 1945, following an illness of a few months.

Anna Jung was born was born June 7, 1879, at Charles City, Iowa, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Jung. She grew up and attended public schools in Charles City.

On December 6, 1899, she was united in marriage to Herman Brandau. They first resided on a farm east of St. John's Church. A number of years ago the Brandaus left the farm to establish their residence in Osage. Later they returned to the farm and continued to live there until about a year and a half ago when they retired and moved to Osage.

Mrs. Brandau became so ill a number of weeks ago that she was hospitalized for a short time. She regained sufficient strength to enable her to return to her home, where she died October 1.

Surviving are her husband, Herman Brandau, Sr.; three daughters, Viola, at home, Mrs. Mable Troge and Mrs. Ruby Weatherwax of Charles City; four sons, Ralph and Wilmer, of south of Osage, Milton of Charles City, and Herman, in the armed forces, now stationed in California; and two sisters, Mrs. P. H. Kelm, of Mason City, and Mrs. Wm. Watkins of Charles City.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Champion Funeral Home and at St. John's Lutheran Church, the Rev. I. G. Kitzmann officiating.
