GEORGE FAAS
DIED SUDDENLY
TUESDAY A.M.Funeral Services Were Held
in Visitation Church
This MorningFuneral services were conducted this morning by Rev. Manternach in Visitation Church for George Faas, who died suddenly at this home here on Tueday morning. Mr. Faas has been ill off and on during the past month, and at the time of his death he had reached the age of 76 years 1 month and 12 days.
George Faas was born in Slinger, Wisconsin, October 8, 1857. On November 16, 1886, he was united in marriage to Susanna Adams. They lived on a farm near Stacyville, for many years. Seventeen years ago the family moved to Stacyville.
To this union eight children were born. They are: Mike, of Gays Mills, Wisconsin; (Anna) Mrs. Hans Neilson of Garner, Iowa; (Rosina) Mrs. Joe Thome, Meyer, Iowa; and Benedict, Kunegunda and Bernard, preceded their father in death.
Left to mourn his untimely death are his wife, four children; one brother, Georgie Faas, of Stacyville; three sisters: Mrs. Barbara Mullenbach of Adams, Minnesota, Mrs Rose Uschold of Rose Creek, Minnesota, Mrs. Mary Rauen of Chicago, Illinois; besides a host of other relatives and friends.
His death was a sad blow to his wife and a great loss to his children, for he was a kind and indulgent husband and a father, a man of finest character and reputation, a hard worker for his family and his home. He was a devout Christian and a member of Visitation parish.
Our heartfelt sympathy is estended to the bereft ones in their dark and sorrowful hour.
