Ottilie (Borchardt) Duenow

Birth: Sep. 13, 1864, Germany

Death: Jun. 26, 1904, St. Ansgar, Mitchell County, Iowa

Ottilie (nee Borchardt) Duenow was born in Dusterbeck, Pommern, Germany, September 13, 1864. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Borchardt. In 1885, she came to America with her parents and settled near Wausau, Wisconsin.

On February 15, 1887, Ottilie was united in marriage to Charles Duenow. On June 26, 1904, Ottilie died at their home. The baby, Lawrence, was only two months old and the oldest child, Robert, was sixteen years old.

There were seven children born to Charles and Ottilie; Robert, Max, Carl, Olga, Minnie, and Marie. Robert married Ella Brosi. Max never married. Carl married Edna Koster and had 3 daughters and 5 sons. Olga married William Crawford. Minnie never married. Marie married Louis Stevenson and had one daughter. Lawrence married Mary Weber and had 2 sons and 2 daughters.

Ottilie was buried in the Toeterville Cemetery.
