David Hiner Died
This Morning At
Home, New Haven

David Hiner, aged uncle of Joe, Jim and Merrill Hiner, and Mrs. Victor Jorgensen, passed away this morning at the farm near New Haven, after an illness of two weeks.

Mr. Hiner had lived in this vicinity for about sixteen years, coming to this county with his brother and his family. He had lived with them since a young man, and assisted them in farming.

Since his brother's death he and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Lillie Hiner, and her sons, have continued to farm and for the past five years have been on a farm near New Haven.

Funeral arrangements have not been made at present.

Obituary

David Hiner was born in Davis County, Iowa, September 8, the year 1853, and died at the age of 78 years, 2 and one-half months, five miles southeast of New Haven, Iowa, November 12, 1931, at the home of his sister-in-law, Mrs. William Hiner, and three nephews, Grover, Cecil and Otto.

He was the second son of John and Rose Hiner. Andrew and William preceded him in death.

He spent his early life in Davis County, coming to Mitchell County with his brother, William Hiner, and family in 1916.

He leaves to mourn his death Mrs. William Hiner, eight nieces and ten nephews; Grover, Jim, Cecil, Joe, Lee Merrill, Pete; Rosa Jorgensen, Osage; Mattie Wilcox, Mason City; John Hiner, Grand Meadow, Minnesota; Allie Steelman, of Minneapolis; Elpha Hiner, of Huron, South Dakota; Hattie French, of Salem, South Dakota; Goldie Hendrickson, Bloomfield, Iowa; Gladys Hiner, Des Moines, Iowa. Those unable to be here were Myrtle Fry, of Turlock, California; Lizzie Steen, of Faith, South Dakota; and Clay Hiner, of Bloomfield, Iowa.

Mr. Hiner was of a quiet and retiring manner and always faithful to his duties on the farm. He will be greatly missed by all those with whom he was associated.
