ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Harold Tabbert, 93, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 1998, at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Robert Porisch officiating. Burial will be in First Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Shroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, is in charge of arrangements.

Harold Reinold Tabbert was born on August 27, 1905, in Rock Township, Mitchell County to Henry Tabbert and Elsa Koehler Tabbert. He was baptized in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rock Township, and confirmed in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton.

He married Grace Kroneman on May 8, 1937. Two children were born to them: Russell and Loretta.

Harold Tabbert worked in elevators in Grafton, Plymouth and Rockford. In 1950, he moved to a farm near Otranto, where he resided until moving to St. Ansgar in 1987.

He is survived by his son, Russell Tabbert, of Grinnell; his son-in-law, Jerome Kleven, of Mahtomedi, Minn.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Lilly Huebner; his wife; and his daughter.
