Rites held FridayFuneral services for an Osage man, Chester Counsell, 78, were held at the Champion Funeral Home Friday. Mr. Counsell died March 5, at the White House of Osage. The Reverend George Hope, pastor of the Baptist Church, was in charge of the rites and burial was in the Osage Cemetery.
Chester Counsell was born March 1, 1902, on the family farm east of Osage, the son of Frank and Ida Counsell. He received his education in the Burr Oak school located on the Counsell farm. He farmed until 1928, and later worked at the Oliver Corporation in Charles City.
In 1939 he was united in marriage to Lela Duckwitz. They farmed near Orchard and later he was employed by the Mitchell County Highway Department. He had been a resident of the White House a number of years.
Preceding him in death were his wife Lela; his parents, one brother Harry and a sister Mabel.
Surviving are three nephews, Kenneth Counsell of Osage, Merlyn Counsell of Berkely, California, and Virgil of Independence, Missouri; and many great-nieces and nephews.
