Carl Larson, 86, Dies at Nevada; Rites Saturday

OSAGE, IOWA — Carl Larson, 88, died Wednesday night at the Nevada Nursing Home, Nevada, Iowa. He had been a patient there the past two years.

Funeral services, will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Champion Funeral Home, Osage. The Rev. Marvin Russert of the Trinity, Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Orchard Cemetery.

He was born in London, Minnesota, November 16, 1871, to Lars and Bertine Larson. The family moved to Mona. He was employed as a telegrapher at Mona, Stacyville, Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Orchard. He had retired in 1940.

He was married to Jessie Thornburg in Orchard, in December 1908. Mrs. Larson died in 1953, A brother, John, also preceded him in death,

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. George (Virginia) West, Nevada; a son, Neil, Osage, and five grandchildren.
