Borchardt rites held Saturday
Funeral services for an Osage resident, Mrs. Anna Borchardt, 83 who died January 9, 1980, at her home, were held Saturday afternoon. The Reverend Kit Belk, pastor, was in charge of the rites at Trinity Lutheran Church and burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Rock Township.
Arrangements were by C. R. Champion and Sons.
Anna Louise Pahl was born December 21, 1896, in Rock Township, Mitchell County, the daughter of Edward and Amelia Witt Pahl. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church.
When she was 18 months old her mother died and she was reared by her grandmother until the age of seven, she went to live with her father.
Frank Borchardt and Anna Pahl were united in marriage February 7, 1917, in Kensett. They lived in Worth County and farmed before moving to St. Ansgar and in 1927, to a farm north of Osage, where he son Leland now lives. Following the death of her husband in 1960, she remained on the farm until 1970, when she retired to Osage.
Preceding her in death were her husband; her parents; two half-sisters and one half-brother.
Survivors include three sons, Raymond and Leland of rural Osage and Armond of Eagle Grove; one daughter, Ruby Borlaug of Cedar Falls; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
