MILDRED O. HUMMEL

OSAGE, IOWA - Mildred O. Hummel, 92, died Sunday, January 23, 2000, at Faith Lutheran Home, Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 833 Ash St., Osage, with the Rev. Roy Ott and the Rev. Dennis Hanson officiating. Interment will be in Osage Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Champion Funeral Home, Osage, (515) 732-3706.

Mildred was born August 8, 1907, in Cedar Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, the daughter of Oliver and Alma (Teslow) Haugen. She attended Osage schools.

Mildred was united in marriage to Dan Hummel on November 18, 1937, in Osage. They lived their entire married life in Osage. Dan died in March 1962.

Mildred was employed at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital for 22 years as a dietary aide.

She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.

Mildred is survived by a sister-in-law, Lois Haugen, Osage; three nieces, Meri Jo Lonergan and her husband, Bill Jr., Austin, Minnesota, Coralie Normann and her husband, Arnold, Veroqua, Wisconsin, and Ann Nelson and her husband, Alan, Veroqua, Wisconsin; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dan; two infant sons; a brother, Gordon Haugen; a sister, Iva Tordoff; and a special friend, Leonard Baldwin.
