Funeral Services Held
For O.K. Riehm at
Deer Creek Church
On November 21

Funeral services for O.K. Riehm, 88, of Carpenter, who died Wednesday, November 18, 1987, at a Mason City hospital, were held Saturday, November 21, 1987 at Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, with the Reverend E.C. Franke officiating.

Mr. Riehm was born June 4, 1899 at Marble Rock, Floyd county, Iowa, the son of George and Sara (Schmerhorn) Riehm. He and his family moved to the Carpenter area where he attended Worth County schools.

On June 15, 1929, he married Laura Marie McPeak at Hayfield. They lived in Mason City where he was a painter and decorator at the former Hanford Hotel. They moved to Carpenter in 1942 where he worked as an area painter and decorator.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Elwin (Beverly) Levenhagen and Mrs. William (Marilyn) Harrington, both of Mason City; Mrs. Melvin (Shirley) Wilde of Osage; Mrs. William (Barbara) DeKruif of Garner; and Mrs. Aaron (Marlys) Thurnau of Carpenter; two sons, Glenn of Evergreen, Colorado and Robert of Madrid; 26 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura in 1965, and one brother and three sisters.

Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
